Further to our News Alert of 18th May, we can advise that the General Rate Increase (GRI) has been pushed back to 1st July 2009. 

Shipping companies are determined to push ahead with this increase due to massive losses suffered in the first quarter of 2009. Shipping Lines are warning that they will be unable to sustain service levels if the rates remain at the current low levels.
