Space Availability Becoming Critical
In our recent news alerts we have highlighted shipping line problems as they fell over themselves in 2008 and early 2009 attempting to gain market share by reducing their rates to unprecedented levels. This was promoted by EU directive that conferences and cartels were deemed illegal and now all shipping lines have to work independently within the EEC.
A major consequence of this is that fleets are being reduced and space availability is at a premium on all trade lanes. With the build up to Chinese New Year space availability issues are reaching critical levels and our advice is to book your freight as early as possible to be able to meet deadlines within your supply chain.
