The carriers which make up the CHKY Alliance have announced that with immediate effect plans are in place to slow vessels and increase transit times from the Far East. The shipping lines consisting of Hanjin, Coscon, K Line and Yang Ming, have declared this as Eco-Steaming but is widely seen as another way to cut costs. The actual impact of this will be an additional 2 to 3 days on current transit times from the Far East.
