With effect from 19th March, the use of Methyl Bromide to fumigate wooden packaging has been banned within the EU. The Forestry Commission have confirmed that wood packaging previously treated by this method may still be used and re-used after the 19th March. For any wooden packaging that has not previously been treated, the Forestry Commission's suggest the heat treatment method in order to comply with current regulations.
