US Customs Border Protection now plan to introduce penalties to those customers who are not ISF compliant. This will become effective from 1st July 2010.
'US Customs and Border protection is generally pleased with Ocean carriers' performance in filing container status messages and stow plans as required by the "10+2" rule. CBP is taking a "measured" approach to enforcement and will begin to issue liquidated damages penalties to importers and carriers who fail to comply with the rule in the 3rd and 4th quarter of 2010 (i.e July-December)'
